By the tasks they have, the General Inspectorate and the county inspectorates for emergencies are in the frontline, both through the work of prevention of emergency situations or of limiting their effects, and by a intervention activity  in case of manifestation.

 

The Fire Brigade represents the most complex professional structure for intervention in emergency situations in Romania, constituted as a public service deconcentrated under the subordination of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

A firefighter is part of a special organized corps, military or civilian, trained to intervene in case of fire with equipment and vehicles for intervention, to extinguish it. Firefighters intervene to give help in emergencies: fires, accidents, floods, earthquake or other emergency, having as tasks to avoid or reduce negative effects on people, animals and goods and organizing activities for their rescue. Their main mission is to protect people, property and the environment.
